WTF somatisation.?
OK I just googled this and no I don't think so. We know what causes AF we just don't know why some people get it and others not. It is an electrical malfunction within the heart so nothing like the symptoms which have no cause listed under somatisation. Some doctors just don't get it!
Bob
Thanks Bob, Neuro suggested this, even though he confirmed blood clots have caused my right sided deafness from CVA xx

That's a bunch of nonsense. Totally not somatization.
Who told you that Poppyseed and what was their expertise? That is very worrying. There is a huge debate about somatic conditions, but to my knowledge AF has never featured but 'palpitations' have!
Sorry just read your reply to Bob, a neuro should know better!
i have challenged Nuerologist especially as ENT said it was a CVA 8 yrs ago and he disagreed and said it was migraine without headaches for the past 8 yrs. He is a bizarre neuro!
Thank heavens I have a good Heamotoligist. Nuero still wants to see me in 6 months.

Hi poppyseed - Not saying it's not - but diagnosed with Migranous Phenominomes (? spelling) a couple of decades ago: No headache - but lose my words/distorted vision/confusion. Was told to lie down in a dark room. Not brought on by any foods/anything I'm doing/stress etc .......they're now querying multiple TIA's !!!
I have been diagnosed with TIA 's when admitted to hospital onto stroke ward by consultant, stroke society a great source of information on these. hope you feel better soon x
I've never come across such anarchy, you naughty people.....
So basically he's trying to say it's all in our minds? What a prat.
Just adding an update, thank heavens for a GP with common sense.
Frustrated and annoyed by my Nuero I visited my GP armed with proof of diagnosis of AF, Deafness, TIA etc . she had already seen his letter and was amazed at his comments and felt they where unfounded. She also felt I must have ruffled his feathers by going to see Genetics and autoimmune specialist with my sister and daughter. It's an odd reaction from him when only this week a GP published a book saying we need to be more proactive as patients with our care and the use of forums like ours is the future.
Thanks once again for your support.
