Funny question but does anyone else get incredibly hungry when they are having an episode? I put it down to my body trying to keep up with an irregular heartbeat!

Hunger with AF!
Until going on rhythm meds and then ablation, I was in A.F. for around 70% of the time. I felt on edge all the time , was always hungry and never put on wieght. Now the heart is quiet I feel much more relaxed and eat normally but am more inclined to put on wieght. I don't know why that is and I would rather have a quiet heart and have to watch my waistline a bit, than the alternative.x
In a word, yes. I think it is a common symptom of any disease that has fatigue as a significant symptom. It is your body alerting you to something is amiss, trouble is that eating more doesn't help. Dedeottie is wish AF had prevented me from putting on weight, alas quite the opposite as I was doing so much less, the pounds piled on. I find that the more active I am, the less hungry I feel and visa versa.
I think it is 'normal' to eat one's way through problems like ours. Also, I found my metabolism slowed down as I did the same physically. Too much puff and blowing to go walking or cycling so the weight starts to add on. The answer to it all? Not sure. Discipline and determination, I guess. I'll think about it after tea......nice big shepherds pie in the oven, with cheesey mash and peas...........😊
