Sotolol for PAF.

I have been taking Sotolol for nearly three years now for PAF. It does not seem to be mentioned much in this forum, is it out of date? My GP keeps me on it and it seems to work with me except that I feel cold most of the time! Thankyou.

Sotalol has both rhythm and rate control functions but was removed from the list of recommended drugs for AF by NICE last year.

I was on it for a year after a stay in hospital, it slowly lost its efficacy and I was switched to another combination of drugs.

I have been on a low dose of Sotolol since I was diagnosed with PAF approx 2 yrs ago. I agree with you, Sil79112, I don't think I have seen Sotolol mentioned, on here, before! I do not feel cold.

I am on a low dose as my pulse is naturally low and my EP does not want it to go much slower! Take care! :-)

My Lung specialist took me off Sotalol 80Mg twice a day and put me on Diltiazem Hydrochoride 120mg once a day before the change I was fairly stable but now I am 136BPM at rest and daily AF episodes.

I did feel cold on Sotalol as well but the heart seemed to be a lot better.
