No you don't usually have to press anything so don't worry. It may have been set to cover longer but that won't matter. It will still have your 48 hours on
it.
Any activity whilst you had it on?
Traditionally nothing usually turns up whilst you have the thing on.
Pat.

I always left it on till I got back to deliver it to the hospital. Most people find they ensure NO events whatsoever whilst wearing them. LOL
Running "joke" - best insurance to not go into AF is wearing a Holter monitor - so don't be surprised if there are no conclusive results this round.
I have just returned one after having it on for 7 days. I think it will have picked up a short episode of erratic pulse at 1.30am on day 5 when I woke up needing a wee. I refused the offer of the 48hr monitor because I reckoned that it didn't stand a cat in Hell's chance of detecting anything. That said, I really did want to know exactly what my heart was doing 5 months post-ablation. Is my left atrium still "severely dilated"? How efficient is my heart now? And now what?
When I had mine fitted I was told to leave it on until I got back to hospital, only thing is it went off after around 9 hours! I still left it on until I got back to the hospital, even though it did pick something up in the short time it was working! This was my second monitor, my first didn't show anything but within an hour of taking it off I went into AF! So yes standing joke seems to be wear one and you won't have AF!
Just a comment on when AF kicks in…..seems best to have moderate mental (eg. wearing a monitor) or physical pressure (e.g. walking). I am wary of situations where in the past I have had max relaxation or max exercise, which is not helpful for quality of life but right now is a small price to pay.
Maybe just me as I guess I have always been an all or nothing person……changing slowly and the new experience is not all bad.
