What kind of problems did you have if you don't mind me asking.

I have been taking for 9 yrs now. I constantly struggle walking up hills and do not have much stamina . Short of breath too, I just can't be sure if it's symptoms or side effects, but until I try something else I will never know. My GP has not let me change in the past. I have PAF.

I was on soltalol didn't work for me either! I've been on bisoprolol since 15th march 2014 and have only had one AF attack which was the shortest one I've ever had! Good luck maybe they will put you on bisopralol next? I'm on 2.5mg per day. Jo :0)

Thanks for feedback Jo x

I was on sotalol 3 x 80mg but my fingers and lips went blew and my breathing was awful. on 2 x 80 mg now breathing not good ( I do have RLD) but better still get Af :(

I think Bob would say it's a mongrel condition, we're all different and a drug that will suit one person well will not be good for someone else - so it's a case of, if it works for you, great, if it doesn't, kick your GP gently into looking at something else...

Your right Eatsalottie....we are all different...Some being fortunate to have good GPs ......

My husband has been on Sotalol for several years with no ill effects. Will have to wait a couple of weeks till next apt to see if this drug is changed.

I have been on Sotalol for four years now having had a short spell on other beta-blockers. Reason I was prescribed Sotalol was that I suffer from mild asthma. Once it was in my system I have not had a problem with it.

Further to to the thought that NICE no longer recommends Sotalol for rate control, does anyone have any information about how this is going to affect patients who currently take Sotalol?

It maybe best to visit your GP, I bet there are a lot of us on this drug at the moment. I was going to share the outcome for others after I have seen him. Xx
