I am 71 and have reverted after a cardio version three years ago .
I have lone AF yet despite everything... - Atrial Fibrillati...
I have lone AF yet despite everything I read about it ,I still go to the gym and walk up mountains without any apparent symptoms .Why
I don't think AF means you have to be inactive, quite the opposite. I haven't stopped doing anything in my life since I was diagnosed 2 years ago.
We are all different in the way we react to the condition and the level of discomfort/ symptoms we experience . This is what makes it such a difficult condition to treat. Many people with permanent AF have no symptoms at all presumably due to the thing creeping up over time unnoticed whereas many paroxysmal patients experience quite violent symptoms. You appear to be very lucky in that your QOL is good and presumably you will be anti-coagulated so stroke is not an issue and live a pretty normal life> I'm sure many here will be most jealous!

Just out of curiosity PGB123, do you take anti-coagulants such as Warfarin or Xarelto? I also am lone AF.
