I have had none, except for feeling nausea when I took a large dose 300mg shortly after eating. Went away within 30 mins. Worked for me for about 7 years.

Non on 100mg x2 but just about to increase to 150mcg x2 so will keep you posted.x

They gave me palpitations, so had to change drugs. Tried it twice, ten years apart with the same result.

Like Dedeottie - I am on 150mcg *2 , have been for 15 years (dose has been twice during that time to what I believe is now the max.) and am not aware of any side effects.

I have been on flecanide 50mg twice daily for 6 months with no side effects at all. I was putting off taking it as I hate tablets and wouldn't even take the odd painkiller. When my attacks were almost daily it just had to be and haven't looked back :)

Good stuff, I'm similar but needed 100mg twice daily and it stopped it completely with no problems. Now checking with EP for side effects if used longterm.

The only side effect I noticed was occasionally disturbed sleep but I was quite happy to put up with that for NSR. Flecainide worked well for me for a number of years but then became less effective so had an ablation 9 weeks ago. Just about to stop flecainide so might find out other side effects in reverse.

Flecainide worked a treat for me for the first couple of years. It seems to have become less effective, especially after my dose went up from 100mg to 150mg, both twice a day.

I probably have two side effects. A year ago I noticed my toes were numb, and the sensation has spread to ankles, heels and more recently shins as well. Feels tight, as if the lower legs are wrapped in cling film. The skin feels odd to the touch. This is listed as a possible side effect of flecainide.

Something also has impaired my sense of taste. I was referred to an ear nose & throat specialist and his opinion was that it was a drug reaction, and again flecainide is viewed as the culprit.

After I had been on it for 3 or 4 months I started putting weight on, my doc said it had nothing to do with it. The cardiologist stopped it as it was not doing any good and over the next 6 weeks I dropped 14 pounds in weight without trying to lose it. I knew I was right :)

I've been on 150mgs x 2 a day forr about 7 years with no identified side-effects. I am asthmatic and don't exercise enough, although I'm now getting more exercise than usual delivering leaflets prior to the local elections where I will be a candidate.

About 18 months ago I had breathing problems and was sent for an X-ray which showed fluid on my lungs. This quickly cleared up when I was put on Furesomide, a 'water' tablet.

My advice is to have an ablation ASAP and do away with all these drugs!

Agree Bagarabe - it was a big thrill post ablation to be told to drop 100 mg flecainide per day

It made me lightheaded and I felt like I would faint...I was driving at the time. This happened twice two days in a row, and I'd only been on Flecainade for 3 days. Stopped it immediately, never had the side effect again.

I found it stopped me sleeping so made me very bad tempered !

I stopped and just used it as pill in pocket which was ok.

I'm on 100mg x 2 daily, the only side effect I have is a diminished sense of smell and taste, but I'm in NSR so I'll keep taking the tablets!!

Yes, I keep taking the tablets too - lesser of two evils.
