Welcome Jo

Yes the information given to you on diagnosis is pretty poor, I wish they told you about the AFA up front and the excellent services and information it provides, but anyway we are were we are.

Sorry that you have been diagnosed, and yes it can be horrible, but the good news is that you will learn to control it and not let it control you, there is lots of information on the AFA website, and also here you can ask any questions. We are all sufferers so ask away we are here to help

Be well

Ian

Hey Jo, welcome to this wonderfully supportive site! Never be apprehensive about posting queries. After all, it's your body, your heart so it's good to find out as much as possible about it! People here have differing experience of AF because it affects people in different ways. Also, the kind of medication and treatment offered can differ depending on where you live.

Can't find the post relating to your diagnosis....I'll keep looking!

All the best

Hi Jo, I hear your pain. There is a lot of anger and confusion with the diagnosis, which is not helped by poor or conflicting information from doctors. The hard thing is that pretty much no 2 Afib people are alike. The good news is that with proper advice and support, you can manage it and the worst aspect of Afib -- essentially its unpredictability. Once I got my head round that -- and it took a few months post-diagnosis -- and learned to be aggressive about asking questions, etc., I felt so much better. My life is back to normal now, yours will be soon I hope and believe.
