I'm going to give it a little longer before asking to change meds, went for a walk today it was such hard work and no fun at all. Feeling very tired I start to feel more like my old self later on in the day when this meds started to wear off.

Brian.

Are you saying it's better to take them at night are you feeling better in the day? Did you just change or did you ask your GP as I understand it's best taken in the morning ?

The only way I can tolerate it is to take it at night, still feel very tired with mildest exercise, well it is designed to limit your heart rate to prevent triggering an episode but does seem to minimise the effect.

Change round your Meds with your Dr's blessings as this med is to slow your heart rate down,if you take them at night you are asleep it could give you Heart Block ie your heart rate could go down even more being asleep and restfull.Taking this med in the day time might be better for you as are you are moving around even if your heart rate is slower thats ok..I had thought of changing to night having given it some thoughts I think taking these meds in the mornings will be better all round even if I do feel very tired, I'm hoping to get used to them in a few weeks, if I'm still having problems then I shall go back to my Dr's and see what he thinks.

Hi Christo

It;s a good idea to give drugs a chance, our bodies do take a while to get used to them, and sometimes the effects do get better, but there are alternatives.

There are around four different beta blockers including Bisoprolol, and then around 3 calcium channel blockers which do the same thing in a different way, and I was switched to one of these called Diltiazem. It made a huge difference to me, but as I said give the drugs a chance first.

Be well

Ian

Hi Christo

I was on Bisoprolol and like you felt very tired I then was switched to Metoprolol which I found better even though I had to take it 3 times a day. I had my first ablation 2 weeks ago and although it is early days so far so good I am still on medication but the dosage has been halved. Talk to your cardiologist I found that my doctor was reluctant to change what he had already prescribed.

Hope you feel better soon

if its any consolation,i recently asked my gp and the cardio if I could change from bisoprlol as it makes me very tired, breathless and generally doesn't appear to be doing any good.i still have episodes after tablets were upped three times.i was told "no" as its the best one for my condition!! if I were you keep on at them, you might get somewhere, good luck.
