Obsession I didn't realise how obsessed I was becoming with atrial fibrillation.

I was bending down trying to fix my computer when I got all dizzy and shaky and started losing my balance, wonderful I thought! Another side-effect of AF or my meds.

Then I noticed the light shade was swaying as well. A 6.3 earthquake.

No damage here, but a bit near the epicentre.

Wow, at least we don't have too many earthquakes in UK. Love the story and how true that we all get so obsessed by AF that we blame everything on it.

Agree here obsession seems to be all part of the af journey

Yep, couldn't agree more with the two previous responses. I was diagnosed last May and spent a good two or three months almost waiting for another attack, or even a stroke. Fortunately I have had good care and the present meds suit me well, so the obsession has got a lot less. Would I would say is that you have to be confident that the meds you're on suit you, and if they don't, then it's back to your cardio or EP. I gave each change of medication at least a fortnight to settle before making that decision. Good luck in finding a balance...it's such an individual thing in the end.

I'm so glad we can say with confidence that AF is not to blame for earthquakes :D It does feel a bit like that sometimes, it's very true, it's hard to get a sense of perspective on it, but very encouraging to hear from people who have.

Just remembered that I did a talk in 2008 about my experiences and at one point it went something like " I was watching a late film one evening when suddenly there was a zinging noise in my ears and the room seemed to move two feet to the left. My heart was beating like mad but I was thinking that's odd, we don;t get earthquakes in Essex." Small world!

Never a truer word spoken, I got totally obsessed with my AF and blamed it on everything!

Just get on with things now .

here here, TBH I'm seem to be still at that stage, if ever alone at home or work my thoughts always switch to AF, whether that be positive or negative.
