Hi Salome

just think of how you will feel soon ! So many people on here have had an ablation and no doubt all were a little scared before it happened. Will keep everything crossed for you .... focus on how you will be in a few months time ..... ready and full of beans. Wish it was me ... but for now so glad you have a date to put AF in its place.

all the best

Nikki

Hi Salome. Please don't worry as there is no need. I had three up to five years ago since which time I have been AF free, I would , however, warn you of things that they probably wont tell you. Please don't try to do much for the first couple of weeks. The slower your recovery the better in my view. As a typical gung ho male I thought I was invincible and of course over did things. Not sure is this contributed to the first two ablations not working but I'm sure it didn't help.

Second thing is that you will probably experience some funnies afterwards, up to three months plus with occasional bouts of AF and other arrhythmias., Trust me this is normal but they maybe wont; warn you so don;t panic. It takes at least three months for the scar tissue which blocks the rogue impulses to form so it is open season during that time.

Relax, enjoy the ride and I'm sure you will come out the other end pleased you went for it.

Since I was on warfarin I cant tell you. I stopped that five days before and had to self inject clexane for five days so if that is what they tell you then fine. Good luck
