my husband has had afid for some years and nothing was ever done about it.3 years ago was told he had parkinsons , none of the medication worked on him. they have now changed it to parkinsonism and my doc. thinks it was caused by mini strokes canthese have been causes by the afib?

Yes they can. They are called TIA's (transient ischemic attack). The #1 concern of AFib is a TIA or Stroke. During an AF attack the heartbeat is irregular and blood is not being pumped through the heart correctly. This can allow blood to "pool" in the atria and clot. When the AF attack is over and the heart begins pumping correctly again that clot can be pushed out and cause a stroke or a TIA. That is why most who have AF are put on anticoagulants (blood thinners).
