happycods, Sorry to hear you are going through a rough time. I have looked up the drug you mentioned, trasidrex, and it is only a combination drug that includes 2 separate type of heart meds. One is a beta blocker which is used to slow the heart rate down which is used primarily to lower blood pressure. The second is basically a Diuretic which causes the body to lower the amount of fluids in your system which also has the effect of lowering the blood pressure by decreasing the blood volume.

While they has discontinued this brand name drug in the UK there are many other types of the same meds available. I take basically the same thing but in 2 separate pills, Metoprolol and hydrochlorothiazide. Speak to your Dr and see what is available.

As far as the AF.... Many patients are put on beta blockers for AF which does decreases the heart rate during an attack and can make AF more tolerable. But there are also other drugs called rhythm control drugs that can keep or hold the heart in rhythm and basically stop the AF from happening. They are not 100% but many including myself have been successful with them.
