No point in prostatectomy. Only do radiation.
I was offered surgery to have my prostate removed and was "all set" to go ahead with it until at the last moment they decided to do a PET scan. The scan showed a spread to local Lymph Nodes. I then changed my treatment to Radiotherapy and Hormone Therapy only. Like Tall_Allen said ,I saw no point having surgery as I would have needed RT and HT also after surgery, ie running the gauntlet of three treatment side effects. I am pleased with my choice so far, but of course there are side effects no matter what the choice. Best of luck with whatever you decide I know its not an easy choice especially just after getting the diagnosis.
I should add my PSA has been <0.01 since i started HT 2 years ago. It was 17 on diagnosis. However I only had my last HT injection June '22, so it remains to be seen how PSA reacts without LUCRIN.
