Hello. Does anyone know if UT Southwestern in Dallas is a good place for prostate cancer treatment?
Also, does anyone know how to raise platelet levels?
Thank you.

Like anywhere else, it is the doctor more than the institution.
It depends why platelets are low- bone marrow infiltration? Chemo? Radiation?
Raising Platelets is Very easy. Take leaves of Papaya tree..boil in water and drink for 7 days. Platelet count rises . For PCa..the best platelet count is low normal range. You do not need high platelets as they stick to cancer cells and protect them from being eaten up by Macrophages./phagocytes.
Prednisone can in some cases increase platelet count. My platelet count has been low for many years for undetermined reasons. It was about 80 shortly before I was diagnosed with PCa (with one known bone met) 12/2018. Started ADT including Zytiga + prednisone 1/2019, and my platelet count is now (7/2020) 113. There may or may not be a cause-effect there, but I thought I'd pas this information along.
Some info here about increasing platelets:

The treatment depends on the condition causing the low platelets.
Thank you all so much.
