Son 10 years old is having rebound when his extended is wearing off. Has anyone found a good short acting to help with this and what was the meds and dose?

What's rebound?

If by rebound you mean, feeling irritable and down, then I would recommend to take N-Acetyl Tyrosine an hour or 30 min before the medication wears off. I'm also assuming the medication is stimulant medication. N Acetyl Tyrosine works by boosting dopamine and norepinephrine, which is the same neurotransmitters stimulant medication works with, that are depleted temporarily when the medication wears off, this is what causes the irritability after the med wears off

My son takes and additional 10 mg of his medication after school to help him through the afternoon.

my son takes the shorter version [not the RX version] of his meds to get him thru homework and afternoon activities, like baseball practice/game and karate
