Just watched this last night, and I found it quite informative.

I think it reiterated just how quickly treatment options and mindsets are evolving and how much a difference of, say, five years can make.

I was diagnosed with a very small amount of G6 cancer in 2017, and I was recommended for active surveillance.

If I was diagnosed with the same amount of disease in in, say, 2007, I probably would have been recommended a radical prostatectomy shortly after diagnosis.

Hi Darryl, Is there a group for guys who have had RP but have declined all other treatment? See my profile. I'm 69 years old, and don't have any interest in extending my life for a year or two at the expense of QoL.

25% of men on Active Surveillance getting treatment because of anxiety is outrageous Urologists should work more closely with Nutritionists and Mental Health professionals. Also the Biopsy Anxiety might be a heck of a lot less if done under General Anesthesia. - Jim Active Surveillance Pioneer on AS since Nov06
