Not true. There is a review being conducted regarding certain medications / products that are provided on prescription but are cheaper when purchased over the counter.

Fentanyl is a controlled drug and therefore only available on prescription. It would take a law change for Fentanyl to be sold over the counter.

However, because it is an opiate and also possibly the subject of misuse I suspect that this law change is unlikely to happen.
