Our website achalasia-action.org has been going a few weeks now and we are hoping that it will be a great benefit and support for those living with achalasia. There are currently 300+ people signed up to the London Achalasia MeetUp group, but this system is not so good for giving people links to other email addresses or websites. We are anticipating that the MeetUp site will gradually drop off in popularity, to be replaced by the new Achalasia Action website.

So on thing we are interested in is to recruit people for some breath test research being conducted by Yan Mei Goh at Imperial College London. The first dates have come through between 12 and 22 August 2019. It involves one visit to St Mary's hospital, Paddington and the process lasts one hour. The research is all to do with volatile organic compounds that can be detected from breath samples, and will help to work out whether those with achalasia may have a slightly higher risk of cancer. the presentation is here: achalasia-action.org/ewExte...

Yan Mei Goh is a clinical research fellow and we can forward your details on if you contact us through the website email info@achalasia-action.org You can also send me a private message through HealthUnlocked with your contact details so that I can pass on the contact details.
