I was born with Craniosynostosis which affects my skull, jaw, fingers, toes and speech
Hannah is from Birmingham, and this is her visible difference story…. I was born with complex Craniosynostosis, which affects my skull, jaw, fingers, toes and my speech. I had operations at two months and 15 months old at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Growing up I had to go for regular speech therapy

Irregular endometrioma
Hello All, I had my laparoscopy last Thursday, up and about now and healing well. I had gone in for a salpingo-oophorectomy as I had what looked like a complex mass on my right ovary. As it turns out it wasn’t on my ovary at all, it was on my uterus, so have kept both ovaries. The surgeon has said that

Keloid scars post circumcision
I do have a few hard raised bumps which look like they are "keloid"
scars
after a bit of googling. My question is is this normal after a circumcision? And do they go down on their own eventually or am I stuck with them? I am using Bio Oil daily to hopefully smooth out the scar.

Tired of life
Few years back, I used to self-harm but having the
scars
raise so many questions, I've stopped. Got into smoking a ton of pot instead, though after moving over-seas they're not that cheap or easy to find here, so I've stopped that, too.

Colomycin Treatment
I was prescribed colomycin about 5 years ago for bronchiectasis. I nebulize it twice a day. My concern is that although I feel quite good I haven't had a review of my condition or given a sample of mucus for over a year and feel as if I've been forgotten. I have been working with medical students

I'm a Creep. I'm a Weirdo-o-o.
I pitched "a week's rest" to myself but felt itchy on run-night reading about all your antics in the wind and rain and quite sadistically felt like I was missing out on the battle
scars
and war stories, so settled for an extra day instead.

Shadow on Left Apex!!
I have had
scars
for years but this is new and he did not sound convinced. I was scheduled for a PET SCAN yesterday but the radioactive tracer was faulty and they rang me telling me not to come. Rang me back with a new appointment for next Wednesday.

Feeling gassy 3 weeks after laparoscopy - normal?
Hi guys, I had a laparoscopy over two weeks ago and they didn’t find any endo. I’ve been healing well but I’ve noticed that often when I eat I can become really gassy and feel really uncomfortable. This did not happen before I had the surgery. Is this normal and has anyone else experienced this?

ID
I didn’t think I looked too different though, just slightly older and now have
scars
. My problem is that I really like the photo of me on my ID. It’s one of the last good photos I have of myself before my accident. And now I hate pictures a lot so I don’t really want to update it.

Halloween: Dressing up as a character. Not a condition.
This is a time of year that we know people in the visible difference community can find challenging, because people don’t know that doing things like applying
scars
with face paint is mocking someone who looks different to them.
