Is anyone on any of these: azathioprine, Arcoxia (etorocoxib), lidocaine plasters?
My GP wouldn't give COX-2 inhibitors because of the cardiac risks, but the rheumatologist says that they are increasingly finding that the older
NSAIDs
also increase the risk and many people only need the COX-2 medication every three days once established, which reduces the risk.

About the causes of pelvic pain
If pain is present on the first day of the menstrual cycle and improves or disappears with anti-prostaglandin medication such as
NSAIDs
then prostaglandin pain is the likely cause.

Good CA125 result - am now on celecoxib, another anti-inflammatory drug.
There is some evidence that such drugs, ie aspirin or other
NSAIDs
, may help some people with cancer. By the way, I am going away for an 8 day break in North Uist (Outer Hebrides or Western Isles) from tomorrow afternoon, and will not be looking at emails when I am away. Best wishes.

Methotrexate and Naproxen together
Since starting MTX about 8 weeks ago I've avoided taking any
NSAIDs
(Naproxen) at the same time ie I don't swallow MTX and Naproxen simultaneously. As a result I tend to go for about 24 hours between Naproxen doses once a week.

Advice please on how to take Mebeverine and stronger antispasmodic tablets?
I still have to take strong
NSAIDs
tablets in the between and waking up in pain in the middle of night. This is about the same pain / pain free level as when I was taking Buscopan.

New here, questions about aches and pains
I was given
NSAIDS
and blown off by the doctor, until I had a mini stroke later that year. Even then, I was treated horribly by arrogant neurologists (my least favorite type of doctor) who insisted I was having psychotic episodes.

and/Antibiotics.

Me Again!!
Well I haven't been on here for a while and so have a few updates.... Firstly, anniversary holiday to Spain was lovely. The journey there was uncomfortable and my hips were agony when we arrived but then three days in the sun was just bliss, pain free and lovely to just be able to sit and read in

IBSEN
I'm having an episode of IBS this weekend, so I'm not happy! It started about 20 years ago but I have long spells with no symptoms (which makes me think it's a fabricated illness -until the next episode!) I have diahorrea-dominant IBS and have experienced faecal incontinence which is extremely embarrassing

So Much Anxiety
Turned out I'm allergic to
NSAIDs
. Terrible news as we all know most of the pain meds for RA contain some type of
NSAIDs
. I decided to take a three month leave from my job in order to find the right meds for me.

Can the endo diet prevent the need for pelvic clearance?! I'm in the need for some good news and a hug!
I've read that
NSAIDS
can effect conception so if the pain is bad I'll be managing without mfenamic acid... (even though the registrar and my gp have both said they're fine to use!)

Antibiotic Therapy
I take my DMARDs & my
NSAIDs
etc. and if it comes to it I'd take Biologics & think myself lucky to have them. But I am feeling increasingly conflicted about these drugs and want to see if antibiotics might be a possible alternative for me to at least try.

Still in limbo..
In the mean time I'm on little or no treatment, just the small reducing dose of steroids and co-codamol (I can't take
NSAIDs
). He sent me a blood bag with loads more tests- yet another lupus test, and a few other things.

Rhupus Anyone?
I don't go back until mid August after all the new testing and I am very chemical sensitive so can't take many drugs-
NSAIDs
, most pain relief etc are out. My only option given was to take fish oil which makes me vomit and panadol osteo that hardly touches the pain.
