Genetic test
Got a copy of my Tempest test. My MO says "No actionable results" meaning plan of action doesn't change (Triplet Therapy). He also stated I had nothing to pass on to my son as far as hereditary gene problems. I have no clue what any of it means. DNA mismatch expression (normal) Homologous recombination

New FDA approved genetic test to predict the chance of opioid addiction
I am concerned about the new
genetic
test
AvertD just approved by the FDA https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2024/03/25/dna-test-opioid-addiction/ It uses DNA to predict whether a person is likely to get addicted to opioids.

One of my adult daughters had PEs in pregnancy, horrific treatment from hospital, which was minutes from losing both my daughter and her baby (at 39 weeks) I'm now waiting to have a
genetic
test
for APs as I was originally told it was not

Genetic test positive
In November 2023 my iron labs were increased. Ferritin 117 TSAT 58 my doctor said we would retest in six month and do genetic testing but wasn’t concerned. My results just came in and it showed homogenous for H63D. I haven’t been able to speak with him yet. I am extremely scared.

Genetic Testing for cholesterol and insurance
Hi The only
test
I have outstanding is a
genetic
test
for familial hypercholeserolmia (high cholesterol) . I was told that insurers shouldn’t ask for genetic testing but looking into it FH is considered to be an illness and diagnostic tests can be disclosed.

Genetic test results.
Got my results from BlueHorizon back today. Not sure what to make of them, not what I expected. Trying to get my head around the amount of info, some of it seems a bit conflicting. They are displayed with RAG rating and then some text, on thyroid genes there are 10 ratings , there are 2 green, 7

Blue Horizon Thyroid Genetic Test results
Afternoon, My Blue Horizon Thyroid Genetic Panel results have arrived after a long wait and I’d appreciate some help understanding them. I undertook the test to check my DIO1 and DIO2 status, both of which appear ‘normal’ (no inherited defects). However, three variants are flagged up in either red

Clear Cell - Endometrial vs Genetic
I am told that they believe my CCOC was caused by endemetriosis so I am not being offered a
genetic
test
. If I don't have BRACA1 or 2 gene, does that mean treatment is limited should I recur?

After Four Cycles of Ra-223
He also ordered another
genetic
test
from a different company other than Gardiant 360 to see if any new mutations will show up. Then he suggested that I give LU-177 a try.. that's when I kinda lost it..!!

Update following meeting with MO
Firstly, the
genetic
test
of the liver tumour the NHS do only tests for BRCA - no other genes. The reason appears to be that the only treatment they would offer is a Parp inhibitor so there's no point testing for anything else.

PGT-M for BRCA1
My husband is awaiting a
genetic
test
so we don't know yet if he has the mutation. We are due to do a FET with one of the two euploid embryos we have (we did PGT-A due to recurrent failures). My father in law who carries the gene mutation wants us to consider PGT-M on the embryos.

Tumor Mutation Burden
Last
genetic
test
has shwon TMB 10.86 and the orevious one (in March, 2023) showed the value of 8.68. Will increased TMB require the addition of PARP inhibitors to my current therapy consisting of Loupron and Abiraterone? Anyone has similar experience? My history can be seen under bio.

Anyone somatic BRCA mutation in tumour?
Hi all, I’m wondering if anyone had their tumour tested positive for BRCA1/2 mutation, but your
genetic
test
(via blood/saliva) tested negative? And if so, did your oncology team explain what that means especially regarding if it puts you at a higher risk to develop breast cancer.

Donor eggs
Our
genetic
test
results came back good but my AMH is very low (0.26- I am 41 years old). Doctor explanation for the failure was due my age , even though my last IVF was around 4 years ago. We have been advised to use donor eggs . Can anyone please recommend us abroad clinics?

My treatment decisions
I then chose to have a
genetic
test
(Decipher) done. It came back a .76 (high risk). Between all these factors, I chose to get it treated. Then the choice was what treatment. RP - They said normally they don’t like to operate on 70+ year-olds but I was in good shape so that was an option.
