Knuckle and Knee pain
My partner is down to 5mg prednisone, has been at this for 6 years or so and now has pain and swelling in one hand’s knuckles as well as her knees. Last time she saw the rheummy who we dislike, she had only one knuckle swollen and painful and he said he wants to start treating her like she has RA.

Seizing up
Over the last week or so we've been constantly on the move. Travelling slowly along the canals is wonderful but the lack of exercise is taking its toll. I'm moving around the boat and pulling on ropes when we go through locks but I've only managed maybe a short walk if I'm lucky before we set off, 8

renewing driving licence
I have received a letter from the DVLA to renew my driving licence as I am 70 in a few months. It is not clear whether I need to inform the DVLA about the my rheumatoid arthritis or the medications I take which are Abatacept, Methrotrexate & Sulfasalazine. None of these effect my driving & I have been

Newswire Spring 2023 - my thoughts
I just finally got round to reading this and am left feeling more inspired and positive on the whole. There is still a long way to go and so much to learn about the baffling diseases of PMR and GCA but when I think back to when I was first diagnosed and struggling between 2012 and 2015, there are definite

sage painkiller for back pain
my mother has autoimmune liver disease and severe osteoporotic back pain. She has been prescribed codeine which she takes most days but the side effects are debilitating. What painkillers are sage and effective for her?

TKR post op review
I’ve just about calmed down enough to share this experience now. Last week was my six week post op check appointment. It was a half hour journey but roadworks made it an hour. I rang ahead to explain but when we arrived the consultant was shouting out my name. I told him I needed the loo first and turned

I am fine with the Peg. It was worth a try to sort out what is to hold accountable for which symptom. I will work on the laziness.

Stopping Firmagon if castration resistant
The cocktail of painkillers plus Radium 223 is making me very tired at the moment. This may seem like a daft question but what is the position with continuing or stopping Firmagon when you're castration resistant? Is its purpose to control the spread of testosterone that would otherwise make the cancer
