spinal haematoma
hi there lovely people , was just wondering has anyone had bleeding on the spinal cord ? I am paralysed at the moment as I had a sharp pain in my back & everything then went numb from my chest down . I am wondered if this is caused by the lupus . They are saying if the clot reduces then I may get some

is it common to be conscious at time you get head injury?
I was in a car accident in 2012 leading to me having serious head injury. I have never been able to remember the accident so I guessed I was unconscious through it. I remember driving along the motorway which is where the accident happened so I guessed I remembered most of the time I was conscious.

Just curious....who else here is on HOME hemodialysis?
I would love to hear about your experience and how it's going.... Do you have a in home care giver or are you solo? How long did it take to get comfortable with the process or do you ever get comfortable with it?

Hi All, I have Myelofibrosis and have been taking Jakavi for about 3 years, and it has been pretty successful in suppressing my symptoms. Unfortunately my symptoms are slowly returning, my spleen has enlarged to 215mm and a bone marrow biopsy has shown that the fibrosis is now pretty advanced. I

PNT article on recent success in generating locus coeruleus (LC) norepinephrine (NE) neurons, to study their role in diseases such as PD.
"Nerve cells originating in the locus coeruleus extend throughout the brain and spinal cord via an extensive branching system, where they release norepinephrine to regulate heartbeat, blood pressure, arousal, memory, and attention." "In Parkinson’s, the locus coeruleus is one of the first brain regions

Steroid induced myopathy
I've been on Pred for 5 years for PMR albeit pretty low doses 2/3 mg for a long while. My rheumatologist seems to think the PMR might have burnt out and I possibly have steroid induced myopathy. The aches and stiffness is in similar areas to before. Does anyone have any experience in this?

Pregabalin and drowsiness
Hi there, My consultant put me on Pregabalin for RLS few weeks ago. He put me on 50mg for a week then on to 100mg from second week. As soon as I moved up to 100mg, I have experienced extreme drowsiness to the extent it has affected my work and made my jet lag worse. I have been on 100mg for nearly

My husband is amazing but can only do and say so much as this isn’t happening to him. I really need hope right now. I’m soon to be 42 and am 5 months postpartum

3 years later
I know it's 3 years later but I wanted to write this in case someone needed to see. This thread helped me so much when my dad was in the ICU on a ventilator. When they took my dad off of sedation he didn't wake up right away. He is a peritoneal dialysis patient and drugs leave his system much slower.

Rectal fissure - healed!
I'm not sure if this is the correct group to post in as I do not have IBS, however for 10+ years, I had a rectal fissure that just wouldn’t go away. I live in the Caribbean, have a healthy lifestyle and diet. Years ago, when first diagnosed with the fissure, I was prescribed Lidoprocto suppositories
