I broke my ankle 18 months ago in three places and had surgery on it, I’ve had physio on it but it still hurts and I walk with a limp Just wondering if anyone else has taken so long to recover from something like this

Sharing a child with an ex partner with a brain injury.
Hi, I posted on here over a year ago when I was trying to free myself from the emotional ties of an abusive partner with a brain injury. We are not a couple anymore and haven’t been for about a year or more. He was short tempered with my older children and I, physically abusive and controlling. He now

Treating leukocytosis in PV
I was diagnosed with PV in 2015 and I am JAK2 positive. I've been on Jakafi for about six months, and my current dosage of 10 mg/day seems to be doing a good job of controlling my HCT, HGB, and PLT numbers. However, my WBC numbers are consistently high, running at 19-20 K/uL. I understand that the literature

12 year old boy still having night time accidents
My son is 12 and has always had trouble with wetting himself. He took ages to be consistently dry during the day but never had any trouble with that now. I think he just didn’t want to take time out of his day to go to the toilet! Grew out of daytime wetting by the time he was about 8. He often wets

Magical thinking OCD
So I looked this up and I definitely have what is called Magical Thinking OCD. I always have to repeat "safe phrases" in my head or words that are the opposite to ones related to my fears. I do it everytime I turn on a TV, start drawing, turn on my game console, leaving my bedroom, heck even when closing

Calcium citrate
I can’t take calcium carbonate so take this instead but I’m having trouble finding it in a tablet/capsule size I can easily swallow. Citracal Petites are recommended but I can’t find anywhere that sells them in the UK that doesn’t have dreadful reviews on Trustpilot. Any recommendations?

Bennett's fracture of the thumb and the rest. Don't cycle on Friday 13th January.
I fractured my thumb just over 8 weeks ago, I was hospitalised for 19 days for the fractured skull I sustained at the time. After becoming conscious after 3 days I complained of the pain and gross swelling of my right hand, though was completely ignored. I was further ignored when I phoned my GP for

Confabulation
"Confabulation happens when your brain creates scenarios that did not occur to make up for gaps in your memory. It can happen as a result of various memory disorders or an injury to the brain". Healthline.co.uk (2017). The elderly gentleman I care for full time confabulates in almost every conversation

Claiming PIP again!
Hi I had bilateral chronic subdural haematoma and burr hole drainage in Feb 2022. I had a fall and broke my leg the previous summer which led to the brain bleeds. I applied for PIP last year after coming out of hospital and even though I went to tribunal I scored 0 points. I've just made the phone call

waking from an induced coma
Does anyone know where I could possibly find information regarding how people are woken from a head injury. So for example how they try and wake the patient and they give a time limit of say 2 hours then decide they aren’t ready so put them back into the coma and they keep doing this until they are

Going for my thrid collection🤯🤪adding luveris - anyone tried it?
Hi all my lovely friends! We've bit the bullet and decided to go for a 3rd egg collection and leave my little 2bb in the freezer! Feeling slightly mad for trying again and that I'm kidding myself but also going into it with hope and a wish! 42 is just around the corner so want my eggs harvested now.

catheter placement
I've been reading that feeding the catheter via the radial artery at the wrist is preferable for a couple reasons. If there's unwanted bleeding it's much easier to stop in the arm than in the abdominal. There's no need to have to lie flat on your back from 2 to 6 hours after the ablation is completed
