Epidural Injection for shingles pain

I have had trigger point injections in the past, but those go into muscle where this would go to the nerves that shingles infect. This doctor is very good at what she does so I have no

Struggling to get a definite diagnosis
To cut a long story short, I struggled but managed to get off
steroids
and in June last year had a hip replacement. My recovery was going well until 7 weeks post op I went to bed feeling reasonable well but next morning I couldn’t get out of bed.

first orthotics
disappointed. The podiatrist hardly looked at the foot and spent most of the appointment typing then without any measurements or gait test said he’s ordered me a pair that would arrive by post in the fullness of time. I suspect these will be no better than the well known brand I ordered online and

After two years and two months on
steroids
. Now I just have to keep fingers crossed that Actemra is doing its job. Has anyone here tapered off or in the process of tapering off hydrocortisone. I know it’s not the end of GCA but I’m pretty excited. Peggy

I’ve had terrible itchy hives on my arms, back, chest and neck for weeks now which is just not getting any better, it started from heat rash whilst on holiday in the summer. I’ve had a small amount of relief from antihistamines (Fexofenadine 180mg) and 2 weeks of Eumovate steroid cream and I’m slathering

Is the catarrh in my throat caused by Prednisolone?
Is this problem a side effect of the
steroids
? Has anyone found a solution? By the way, my tongue is also sore all the time.

Pred 'the controlled drug' update
On my previous post, many suggested a lack of understanding about the many different uses of
steroids
, and it seems you were right. I was reassured they won't be 'trying to get me off
steroids
' and I am getting some more. Problem solved 😌 👏

Cataract Surgery: NHS referral for fast treatment
I’m aware that cataracts are a common side effect of
steroids
. I’ve developed cataracts in both eyes, rapid growing and last week had surgery for replacement lens in one eye. The waiting time for NHS treatment at the hospital eye clinic is over three years.

Flaring could it be too much confectionary
I am having another flare up in spite of the
steroids
and I think it is eating too much sugar, far too much sugar, going to try really hard to stick to no sugar for the next few days. Does anyone else feel sugar can be a big cause of the inflammation........

Root Canal/steroids/antibiotics-avoid?
Hi folk, About 3 months ago. I had a tooth abscess. I was given a course of amoxicillin that dealt with the infection but gave me terrible Thrush that took quite a long time to get on top of. This was before I was diagnosed with PMR, but I was suffering really badly with it. My dentist is up a flight

Heart issues and pred
I found this https://evidence.nihr.ac.uk/alert/low-doses-
steroids
-increase-cardiovascular-risks-in-inflammatory-diseases/ I am not suggesting for a moment that pred is in any way a culprit. We all know how vital it is to us. Just something to be aware of - I did not know until I started looking.

Question about Dexamethasone with O&V
This doesn't make much sense to me given the results of
steroids
so far (as above). I'm aware high dose
steroids
have side effects and personally I hate the insomnia etc. Any thoughts?
