Chocolate
I asked the nurses if they had any
ibuprofen
gel, which they had and put it on his shoulder and hands where he gets most pain, then remembered I’d out chocolate in the fridge when he first went in.

Saying hello to you all. I'm a nutritionist and yoga teacher specialising in kidneys based in London
For now an overall tip - avoid
ibuprofen
as this is a burden to the kidneys. Hopefully this is advice you have already received but avoiding painkillers generally is a good idea for kidney health. Obviously if you are in severe pain, then this does not necessarily apply.

Hashimotos- suffering with morning headaches and nausea. Could it be gluten?
Takes about 6 hours to recover (
ibuprofen
). My pharmacist suggested I read up on gluten intolerance. I’ve had a recent load of bloods and all good and in range, tsh 1.0 Rheumatoid Factor was in the upper range (13). But in range.

Back pain and pulled muscle
I know
ibuprofen
and aspirin are off limits and paracetamol allowed in small dose since cirrhosis diagnosis, and assume topical gels not allowed either. Asked at chemist and they said to see my doctor....

The docs here in the states (I live in Virginia) have told me not to take any NSAIDS (
ibuprofen
, naproxen, advil, etc) as they thought my meningitis might have been caused by some sort of allergic reaction to these as well (although I doubt this very much).

Hip Pain
I've been taking
ibuprofen
but it only really dulls the pain. I had shin splints (I think ) early on, but thankfully these eased off. Is this another new runner problem ?

As for my headaches well '
ibuprofen
' quick fix....but here is the problem I have with that, it does not explain why I started getting headaches. Also why I have had them on and off since October last year.

Next steps: no endo found
I suppose painkillers to deal with my symptoms but paracetamol and
ibuprofen
do not work and the fatigue I feel and bloatedness whilst on my period is awful. What painkillers are good? What were anyone else’s next steps after endo not being found? I am sad. Thank you xx

New study - American large study showing that ovarian cancer patients taking aspirin or NSAIDs have a better survival rate
Those who took aspirin or an NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug eg
ibuprofen
) after initial diagnosis and standard treatment had a better chance of survival.

New here - just diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis and fibromyalgia
I only found out as I went to the doctor to say I needed to have something for bad days yet there is nothing you can take on top of the patches (my stomach can no longer handle
ibuprofen
etc.).

Fever
I'm nearly 18 months post tx and been taking paracetamol,
ibuprofen
(rarely) and drinking plenty of water, tea and lemon water. Not eating much as I have no appetite. Paracetamol takes ages to bring the fever down and when it does, the headaches kick in 😭.
