Another update on 5th heart surgery….
Ok, well I’ve now been here for almost 2 weeks and hoping to be discharged today. Thought I’d give a bit more of a comprehensive update (although don’t want to scare anyone!) Quite a few problems with various levels (INR, potassium and hemoglobin) which has lead to several blood transfusions and potassium

Sublingual B12?
Hi there! Despite a low B12 level (95), macrocytosis and neurological symptoms, my GP really just wanted to put me on 100 mcg per day of B12 for 3 months. Since I didn't test positive for IFABs, I had to fight to get injections, but was only given 5 loading doses. My husband has felt unwell for some

Endometriosis in Bowel
Even had
endoscopy
to check for GERD but all clear. So it must be something to do with Endo in my bowel or intestine that's causing this. I have Nausea every single day because of it. I am at my wits end now and will be pushing for surgery to sort me out.

Hello - I’m new and have questions.
It could be due to a nerve from spinal compression - but to investigate this - I’ve had
endoscopy
, colonoscopy, a chest X-ray and abdominal U/S - all showed no problems anywhere - lungs, heart, spleen, liver - all good except I have lots of gallstones - but no thickening of gallbladder seen on U/S.

Help, Newly diagnosed with hiatus hernia
These past 3 months my acid reflux was really flaring up I’ve had an
endoscopy
beginning of July21 and been diagnosed with a 2cm sliding hiatal hernia. Before the
endoscopy
I had a bad acid reflux but not this epigastric heaviness and horrible back pain.

Leaky Gut
After
endoscopy
and colonoscopy biopsies I was diagnosed with an H pylori infection in my stomach and put on three serious antibiotics. With all the talk about PD starting in your gut in my case it may be true. I was diagnosed with PD in 2015.

Just feeling rubbish
I have had pretty much every test over the last three years,
endoscopy
, colonoscopy, CT MRI Nuclear test on the gallbladder and nothing significant shows up. 100s of blood tests and all say perfect, but still I have constipation at times, heart burn, stomach pain, gas, loose stools etc.

Borderline low alkaline phosphate
Then 2009 he did
endoscopy
found the chronic superficial gastritis suggested reactive gastropathy. Told me to take nexium. And eat better. At that time I lost insurance at job could not go back.

Variciles
Well tomorrow I will be in hospital again for my 18th
endoscopy
in just over 2.5 years. So far I have had over 70 variciles banded. Last time, 6 months ago, they actually didn't find any, so fingers crossed that tomorrow will be the same x

Feeling low after docs appointment - questioning myself again
This lump I feel in my throat on swallowing and which restricts my breathing when I lie down can't be at all connected because if I had a goiter it would show from outside and the nasal
endoscopy
(if that is the right term - camera up my nose anyway!)

Gastritis improvement with injections
I had an
endoscopy
last year, after monthly injections were started, which showed moderate gastritis. This year, the
endoscopy
showed marked improvement, along with better bowel movements and less intestinal cramping. The only thing that has changed is going from monthly injections to weekly.

Help with ibs symptoms
I’ve also had a capsule
endoscopy
which showed all the markers still in my left small bowel. All this seemed to be dismissed & not explained & a diagnosis of ibs was given. I don’t get bloating, or urgency to go to the toilet. My main symptom is pain in left side of abdomen.

Endoscopy diagnosis
After 3 weeks from my
endoscopy
, I recieved a letter from the hospital with my biopsy results. It says I have chronic oesophagitis and gastritis. I have looked it up..it means inflammation of the oesophagus and the stomach.

Getting there...
I have an appointment for my
endoscopy
and colonoscopy next Wednesday. I'm so relieved I'm going to be able to stop eating wheat/gluten! Nervous about the colonoscopy. Embarrassing or wha. Also the prep sounds awful. The nurse told me to just think of it as a good cleanse. Eek!

Low stomach acid tests
I know that GE consultants have access to 24 hour ph monitoring tests and probably take samples via
endoscopy
. Are there any tests that GPs can do for low stomach acid?
