New to this
He just started
dialysis
at home this week and is really struggling emotionally. I'm encouraging him to get on one of these groups, talk to others and thought I'd lead by example. Him struggling is hard to see and hard to live with on top of everything going on in the world right now.

Peritoneal vs Incenter Nocturnal Dialysis
If I do not get a transplant first, I may have to choose a method of
dialysis
. My doctor recommends peritoneal but I'm attracted to incenter nocturnal
dialysis
. Does anyone have information on how each compares in regards to how the recipient feels generally from each?

Its my turn to worry now
I am still a ways from the point of
dialysis
but I really want to see if it was the test, the lack of fluids from doing it in the morning or what. I need a good food tracker that includes protein, potassium and phosphorous, glucose and sodium.

New to Stage 4 CKD
If that's the case, shouldn't they be looking towards
dialysis
? Also, they want to implant a defribulator for my heart. I'm tired of feeling sick and being depressed. I am new to all this and don't know what to do.

Low blood pressure...they want to stop dialysis...please any advice is needed
She was previously on continuous 24 hr
dialysis
and then adjusted to 10-12 hr
dialysis
. I mentioned what if they gave her fluids to supplement her blood pressure but they said the amount of fluids she would need would cause respiratory failure...

Dialysis question - advice please
Good morning! As some of you know my brother was in ICU for many weeks due to COVID. He is now in a specialist renal hospital as his kidneys are still not working. He is doing well apart from this. I have seen him a couple of times on the ward - he is very ‘skinny’ but seems to be perky enough in

Husband beat covid - home after 123 days.
He was in ICU for 9 weeks (6 weeks on a ventilator), had a tracheostomy, took a month to wake up after sedation was stopped, had a major trachey bleed, was on
dialysis
for 7 weeks, had a feeding tube for 12 weeks.

Ckd and ammonia smell
I’ve already turned down using
dialysis
when kidney failure starts because that to me isn’t the quality of life that I would enjoy. So unless a breakthrough happens to cure it I just have to prepare for the day when my body will finally have had to much to keep going.

Recurring pneumonia in PT dialysis
My husband is on peritoneal
dialysis
. He has a kidney donor but we have been fighting pneumonia for 9 months now and its holding up the transplant. He recently had a broncoscope done to help with diagnosis as antibiotics were not working. Inconclusive results.

CKD with ANEMIA and STARTING RETACRIT
I am just wondering if I slipped into stage 4 overnight and now looking at
dialysis
or is this a side affect of the injection until my body become used to the drug. Thank you for any reply. Have a great weekend.

Help and advice appreciated
He has informed me that due to this I need to prepare myself for possible
dialysis
in the near future. Does anyone have any views/tips on whether i can delay having to dialyse by life style changes. I am 62 years old and have had type 2 diabetes (insulin controlled)for 18 years. Thanks.

KT/V ORDERED BY MEDICARE?
This too is confusing to me because an accurate test for
dialysis
effectiveness needs the urine and the drain bags to get the results of the KT/V. Has anyone else been told that Medicare made this request for ALL
Dialysis
Clinics (or just FMC?) PD patients?
