Advice following GP visit please
Is the risk of this over that period of time higher than the risk of failure to absorb
calcium
due to out of range Vitamin D?

Yet another mess...
She then asked me if I was still taking the
calcium
pills. I told her I dont take
calcium
pills and never have. "Yes yes, yes yes". Anyway, she said she would arrange the blood test and include a Vit D test. (I knew this would not happen), but I had to phone back to arrange a date and time.

parathyroid
hi everyone, I had my parathyroid checked not long ago due to high
calcium
levels and hypo symptoms even when levels are near optimal. My worse symptoms are fatigue, muscle weakness and severe aching all over, heart problems (palps). Have attached bloods.

weight
I cut out dairy products and most carbohydrates but I am cautious about recommending that as eating too much protein and not enough
calcium
to remove the amino acids may have caused the kidney stones which I have developed. I should think most of those who teased you are overweight now!

Interestingly, apparently my
calcium
levels are high. The rheumatologist told me to stop
calcium
for one week then start taking half the dose.

How high is high phosphorous??
Calcium
in range. Glucose in range. A1C 5.3. the only number that was bad was phosphorous which has slowly crept up to 6.4. I was taking Tums 1500mg to help, but it bound me up so bad I cut to 750. Here's the joke folks....my adequacy or Kt/v is 3.2.....I still pee.

Flares trying to get from 9 mg to 8 mg
I may have flared due to the timing of a new
calcium
supplement started taking for osteoporosis a month before that taper. I changed the timing of that so that it shouldn't interfere with the absorption of my prednisone.

Osteopenia?
So now I start vitamin d and
calcium
. On top of the dozen of meds I'm already on. Doctor Google says weight-bearing exercise is good for osteopenia. I have a treadmill and walk/run three times a week. I can set the incline to 15% grade.

Low statin dose increased lipoprotein a significantly
I have elevated lipoprotein a [lp(a)] and elevated cholesterol levels, am 70 years old and have a coronary artery
calcium
[CAC] score of 0 (or did before I started statins a short while ago). I just learned about the lp(a) level around 18 months ago.

Alternative to beta blockers
As a result of this, my cardiologist took me off Bisoprolol and prescribed a drug named Diltiazem, which is a
calcium
channel blocker as opposed to a beta blocker. It has only been a couple of weeks but so far I am cautiously optimistic that it may have solved the problem.
