Wk 9 R 3 done and dusted

Ok I have only gone and done it in 9 weeks I have gone from running 0 minutes to 30 minutes and it feels good. I feel lucky that I haven't had any injuries and I know not having kids at home means I can pretty much please myself when I run, (early morning is working good for me), so doing it in the 9 weeks was more achievable for me than some people, and I did resist the gremlins who wanted me to repeat runs I just ran the program as it was set out and didn't repeat any.

C25K really does work an I am a real life example of that.

I have lost a bit of weight but that is secondary to how I feel; I feel better I eat better, I sleep better and overall I'm pretty pleased with myself and life at the moment.

I'm really looking forward to what comes next, partly because I love planning, so I can now plan my consolidation runs and aim for that 10% improvement. I would like to reach 5K but you know if I cant so what I can now run for 30 minutes three times a week and intend to continue to do so.

I have even bought myself a little graduation gift of a light weight waterproof running jacket so I can keep going during the wet winter months. The only thing that will stop me is Ice and snow,

I would never in a million years thought it was possible, thank you C25K and the forum for giving me the support and the advice.

I am now a C25K graduate. Boy does that feel amazing.

CONGRATULATIONS 👏. well done Poppdog. This is great news, and what a story. Keep up your 30 min runs and the next step is up to you. Progress to 5km, 60 mins, 10km and beyond! My advice is keep it slow and make sure you enjoy it. 😉

I have heeded all the advice to get me this far unscathed and smiling and I intend to keep listening to more experienced runners. Thank you

Congratulations it is a fantastic feeling well done.

I think I may also have to buy a running jacket for these damp mornings

what's the saying "there's no such thing as bad weather just bad choice of cloths" ☃️

The only problem with waterproofs is that whilst they keep the wet out, they keep the moisture in too. Blocking the wind is probably more important in keeping the chill away.

What a great story and a magnificent achievement. I graduated a few years ago now and I remember the feeling.

I just wish c25k had been about when I was in my twenties.

Poppdog profile image
PoppdogGraduate in reply toPeterBrash

Me too but I convinced myself as a younger fitter me that running wasn’t any fun. Oh if only we could go back and give our younger selves a good talking too
