Hello October! It's Week 3 of the Quest!!! 😊

Hello!

How's it all going? Tell us about it 😊😊😊

I am feeling excited to be starting my new marathon training plan next month, but for now I'm happy to be keeping up with my Quest to do a couple of runs and a couple of strength workouts per week. I've also added some swimming back into the mix - go me πŸ˜„

What is the Quest?

The aim of the Quest is to help you find a focus or goal that you would like to achieve by the end of the Quest period.

This Quest will run all the way through October!

You can join at any point during that time.

I ask that you are a C25K Graduate before joining the Quest. The reason for this is that pre-graduation your week is very much structured according to the C25K programme, and I wouldn't want the Quest to interfere with that.

Some popular goals are:

β˜… To run three times a week

β˜… To slowly increase distance

β˜… To train for a specific race

β˜… To add Stretch and Strength exercises to your weekly routine

This is a personal challenge, so it's completely up to you! Set yourself an achievable goal and have fun with it 😊😊😊 NEED SOME INSPIRATION? Take a look at Iannodatruffe's wonderful What Next? guide for C25K graduates:

If you want to join the Hello October Quest, all you have to do is comment below with something like:

I would like to join the Quest, or, count me in! I want to ..............

Every week of October I will put up a new post and we can all chat about how we are doing, share tips, and motivate each other - it’s going to be awesome!!! πŸ˜ƒ

Enjoy your Quest!

Good luck with your marathon training plan roseabi. My aim is to slowly get to 10k. I had made a start but had an operation on my hand yesterday so no running for a few days or 1 week but I will get right back on it when I can. 😊😊

Quest still on track... apart from a small ankle twist on 1200m interval 4 of 7. I figured it was better to abort and walk it off than to push on, and the pain soon went. No injury and I was able to not miss any running. 1.5 weeks of big runs and then a 10 day taper to the HM.

Hmmm... swimming has gone well, managed a run last week, yoga picking up. Some app problems affected me doing yoga classes.

Biggest hiccup for the rest of the Quest is me doing a big trip last weekend which was always going to take up several days and knock me out for longer (but worth doing for other areas of wellbeing - social fitness!) Unfortunately that's been compounded by a bug (this is what happens when you mingle!) so for the last few days nothing has been happening.

my pr this week will be the first since the beginning of july.

rather got out of the habit during july/august (things to do/hols/hols food ect )

i have been doing 2 or 3 runs a week but nothing more than 5k and therefore not feeling as if i have progressed at all :(

so,saturday i will get a time which will be nowhere near my pb,but what ever it is,it will give me an aim to better.

no pressure and enjoyed every min of it. i was 1min slower than my first pr time but now i have a long stretch of free saturdays so looking to see some improvement, loose those last few summer lbs and also tourist again at the a pr i have done b4 with hills :)

Upped the anti with strength and flex using loads of resources found on here. Solving long term hip problems which years of physio hadn't fixed - probably combination of the great running plan and my s&f days filling every day not just the days I could be bothered to do them. Routine is fantastic for health, fitness and wellbeing πŸ™†β€β™€οΈ

Oldfloss and roseabi Just realised I’ve overdone things a little yesterday so learning from here I’m taking an extra days rest with some gentle yoga before getting back on track tomorrow or Tuesday thus avoiding IC this forum and all your advice is great. Responding to other people’s posts makes me stop a ask whether I follow my own advice. So I’m posting this to you two so that I make myself accountable. Thanks

Going well with me Roseabi! Just started Week 4 of JuJu's magic plan and I'm back from my 7K run. Did it, but the final 1.5km was really tough going. Hoping it's simply because I did Park Run on Saturday and maybe I shouldn't have done my long run so soon afterwards. I'm fine now I'm home but it has made me realise I've still got work to do to reach the magic 10!

Lots of us need a couple of days or more to recover after a hard run. You'll get there though!!! xxx
