Any advice?
I don’t want this to become a thing as I know how painful
shin
splints
can be. I was surprised that it even happened at this early stage so what I am doing wrong? I’m running on a treadmill, could that be a factor? Any help appreciated

Where to start with Strength and Flex?
Hello I have suffered a variety of injuries/issues since starting C25K, including
shin
splints
, plantar fasciitis, hip and knee pain and most recently, anterior tibular tendinitis. I have just started the programme again after time on the IC for this.

Shin Splints
Hi. I've been having pain in my shins for a year or so, when I wake up, if I try getting out of bed by leaning on my feet, they hurt. Walking hurts. Standing, etc. My podiatrist gave me stretching exercises to strengthen the hip muscles, he said, I think. I can only do some of them, because MS. Anyway

Week 1 complete!
I’ve been reading the really helpful guide that was posted on here and that has been a godsend - especially when it comes to slowing down my running (not a problem I ever thought I’d have haha) I just wanted to ask if anyone had any advice re: avoiding
shin
splints
?

ankle/leg pain when running
I don’t know if this is what
shin
splints
feel like, but it was like I couldn’t move my ankles, which then made it feel like my muscles round my shin and my calves were cramping. Very annoying! I was wondering if anyone experiences this and what you do to fix it please? Thank you!

exercise and thyroid
Is there a link between
shin
splints
and vitamin D, or lack of? Genuinely perplexed! Also - how do you all manage your cortisol levels? Thanks for your time in reading. Any sensible advise gratefully received :)

Shin split tips?
Hi all,Hope you are well ☺️ I got up to week 5 but got bad
shin
splints
and stopped running for a while, I've started again at week 1 but I feel like the
shin
splints
are back, I'm going to take a week off until they're gone. Has anyone got any tips to getting rid of them?

Advice please - pain along bottom of feet when running
I suffered quite badly with
shin
splints
towards the end which put me off and I stopped running. Picked back up again this year and on week 4 now. Now I’m running longer I notice an unbearable pain spanning the bottom of my foot, on both feet!

How do you prevent shin splints and hip pains?
I’ve had to pause and re-do a few earlier runs due to
shin
splints
, hip pains and swollen ankles (previous torn ligament injuries). I’m back to it again on week 4 now but I really don’t want to injure myself again and have to stop.

Advice, please!!!
Long story short, I am 12 days from the GNR and have developed pain in my right
shin
that is more or less constant.
Shin
Splints
seems the obvious diagnosis. It's not agony, but it's very sore. I am DESPERATE to run the GNR, I have worked so hard to get to this point.

Is it time to give up?
I was reasonably fit having been a keen hiker for most of my life but it took me almost 2 years to complete the programme because of a series of injuries along the way, including
shin
splints
, plantar fasciitis, knee and hip pain.

Could your knee pain be something else? Do you also have forefoot varus?
I haven't been for a run in a while, I was getting
shin
splints
initially, to which I kindly received support and advice from you lovely people. I decided to rest and train at the gym. I ended up switching to pressups for the November Challenge of 100 a day. Now I'm itching for a run!

Week 8 run 2.. worst run yet
I think I have
shin
splints
as horribly sore shins since yesterday, probably shouldn’t have run today, but went anyway. 16 mins in I had to walk for 60 seconds and then I managed to run for the last 9 mins, but definitely felt worse after.

Start week 6
I've been suffering with
shin
splints
since about week 2 (which I started November time) and they are slowly starting to get better. On Wednesday I ran with compression socks on, as some bright spark who seems to have more knowledge on running than I do recommended them.

Fatigue
I keep my pace slow and steady - more so than last time after following advice not to over stride to avoid
shin
splints
which has worked! I have always been quite prone to tiredness and disrupted sleep - even trips to the supermarket have always been exhausting. But I'm active despite this.
