COVID Boosters. Continue or Stop.
Hello, With recent stories of side effects due to the COVID vaccines, mainly heart problems, I was wondering if any post transplant recipients (14month for me) have refused the boosters on the grounds of these stories which are certainly gathering momentum. It seems that any media, group and social

Give me your best Covid remedies and advice
After dodging Covid for a couple years, today I tested positive. I have a headache, fever, dry cough, chills and sweats. Upon the advice of my doc at MD Anderson, I am going to start paxlovid today and pause my calquence. I plan on getting an oximeter to monitor my oxygen, some cough syrup

Covid, continuous dry cough causing sleep loss and what to do next?
Tested positive for Covid 3 days ago after previous 3 days of cold/ flu like symptoms. Temperature (38°C for one day) and deadly sore throat now gone. Continuous dry cough remains. Kept me awake for last 5 nights. Diaphragm now aching and painful when I cough. Tried all sorts - hot honey and lemon drinks

New Year , and I've Come Down With Strep. Here's Some Info if You Suspect It and Need to Get Tested Safely
So a New Year begins , but rather than hitting the ground running I've hit it with a thud. We had guests for the first Christmas since COVID and one of them had a nasty cough. My OH came down with symptoms a week ago and then I got the tell tale signs a few days ago. So , we contacted the GP surgery

Has anyone had Covid post-transplant?
I am finding my anxiety about Covid is impacting the quality of my life. I have periods of generalized anxiety where EVERYTHING scares me: from Global Warming to the drought in the western states to my husband dying and leaving me alone. After much thought, I think it all stems from the onset of Covid

update on my GCA-LVV journey - back to weekly Actemra injections
just want to give a short update on what happened since my last post. As background info: I have been diagnosed with large vessel vasculitis (mainly general symptoms: fever, malaise, weight loss, increased heart rate) in February 2021. I received Actemra from the start and could thus taper prednisolone

Covid and prednisolone
I've just done a rapid antigen test for Covid and it is positive. Some time back when the variant was more serious and the vaccine less effective, I was sent a NHS priority PCR test as I am vulnerable being old and decrepit!!! Should I still use this and is the antiviral medicine that would then entitle

Covid-Induced Holiday
A week before Christmas, both my wife and I tested positive for Covid and it was the first time for both of us. My Primary Care wanted to put my on Paxlovid for 5 days but was concerned about interactions with my Orgovyx and Lipitor. Both should be stopped during the 5 days on Paxlovid and then for 7

Rheumatology appointments - where have you gone?!
Has anyone had trouble seeing their Rheumatologist since the first Lockdown? I see a Rheumatologist at Addenbrookes and have done for 7 years. After developing new symptoms I was placed under the care of the Lupus nurse and had 2 telephone consults in late 2020 and early 2021. I also had a telephone

Reducing pred after 10 days on sick day rules cos of covid- advice please.
Need some advice please again. Just getting over Covid. Tested positive on 22nd Dec. Before Covid I was doing a slow 0.5mg at a time taper (DL taper plan 🙏) and was on 5.5mg feeling exhausted and had pain in upper arms and upper thighs etc etc. I was tying to unpick whether this was due to tapering

PAXLOVID - What next
I tested positive for COVID over Christmas and received 5 days of Paxlovid. I am now testing negative. I understand that once you receive Paxlovid a rebound is possible. I am therefore interested in others that have been down this route and can share their experiences. Can you receive Paxlovid for

Happy New Year - Afib and Covid 2023
Hi all. I know we've all heard enough about having afib and covid. I have to give my take on it though. I've never felt so happy - so here's a positive post about the whole thing of the two together. I've avoided the bullet so far. Tested positive this morning for covid. 5 days of self-isolation with

XBB1 & XBB1.A
What are my fellow MSers doing with the newest Covid-19 Variants, XBB1 & XBB1.A, on the uptick in the United States? Do you get a new Covid-19 vaccine every six months? What is the MSers protocol? FWIW, I've read that the newer variants are very evasive to both the original and the bivalent vaccinations

Hi, I have Covid and I have been offered the antiviral medication. I just feel like I’ve had a bout of flu and am now I’m on the mend so not sure whether to go ahead with it knowing that if there is a side effect I will probably get it. Not to mention I have to have it intravenously. I was just wonder
