Cancer takes another brave man
My wonderful husband passed away yesterday after fighting the beast for 15 years. Gleason 8 all but one core positive. He was so strong tried so hard, 2 clinical trials radiation, Zytiga, Xofigo, lupron for the entire time. Finally at age 65 his body could take no more, he lost over 40 pounds, no energy

Does this mark the beginning of castration resistance?
Hi all, I have been quietly reading all of your posts and comments in the background since my dad's diagnosis with Stage IV adenocarcinoma (Gleason 9 (4+5)) with distal bone metastases in September 2022. My dad's PSA at diagnosis was 150. He is 64. Since May 2023, dad has been on monthly Degarelix

Diet for ADT
(Duplicate post from Advanced Prostate Cancer). What diet should I be following while on ADT for the next two years? Guidelines from handout sheets are contradictary and unclear. I have been on Orgovyx for almost three months, starting on February 27, 2024. My PSA has dropped from 9.2 to 1.2 to 0.9

Exemestane and Afinitor
Hi everyone I just completed 1 month of Truqap. I had to stop treatment due to a cough and a horrible rash. I had to stay in the ER for 24 hours due to the rash. I am now moving on to Exemestane and Afinitor. I would so appreciate any experience that anyone has had on these 2 meds. I’m mostly interested

Are endocrinologists of any help after ADT?
After ADT, my MO told me that handling things like Prolia management won't be in her bailiwick. I didn't ask about post-ADT SE's and recovery from same. Hot flashes, low T, BMD loss, and last not least sarcopenia. What is the community's experience with how post-treatment SE's are best handled? Are

Podcast Episode with Abraham Morgentaler, MD about Testosterone and Prostate Cancer
This great podcast, "You are not broken," is by a female urologist, Dr. Kelly Casperson. She often explores misconceptions about hormones. This episode with Dr. Morgentaler takes a fascinating look at the theories about castration and prostate cancer. Spoiler alert: it may shake your confidence in the

My husband has metastatic prostate cancer. We went through all the treatments including 5 pluvicto treatments. Even though his scan shows improvement in some areas it continues to spread. Breast dimpling post Lumpectomy?
Hi there! Anyone notice breast dimpling after lumpectomy? It has been 6 months after my surgery and I’m seeing 2 distinct dimples showing in the surgery area. I’m thinking it could be from the scar tissue?

Any enzalutamide for chemo?
Tall Allen recently posted about a trial in which taking enzalutamide during docetaxel chemotherapy might help get the PSA down. Abiraterone failed for me recently and I’m re-challenging with docetaxel. I’m based in the UK, and NHS protocol doesn’t allow this. Should I go off -piste and take enzalutimde

Mums recurrence
My mum found out on Friday her cancer has recurred after 11 months. She will start 2nd line treatment of Carboplatin and Caelyx soon, 6 sessions, 1 every four weeks. Does anyone have any positive stories they can share with me to offer some hope. We are devastated!

Robotic wedge lung resection
During my pet scan a lung shadow was reported. Biopsy failed to get tissue but Drs. do not think it is from the stage 2/3 prostate cancer. They recommend a wedge resection via a daVinci mechanism to remove it. I'd like to hear from someone who has had that surgery but since it may be tangential to this

'Benign' cyst removed and has turned out to be in my bones and lungs and obviously in my skin. ER, PR + and HER-. All my research tells me I am doomed as skin mets are meant to be terminal?????? My oncology team were so upbeat, started on Letrozole and Ribociclib and Denosumab. I have no symptoms

ADT duration for high risk with Cribriform
Hi all, Age 72. In good health. I'd like to get some advice on my case. Should I stop ADT after 12 months? https://bmcurol.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s12894-022-01145-x I just consulted with my RO. I’ve done 11 of 18 months on Eligard. He wants me to stay the course. He spoke about the possibility

Expanded label sought for 177Lu-PSMA-617 in prostate cancer: about time
I have already done the taxane part and I would like to see how 177Lu performs as first line...but this is also interesting, it seems more effective than a change in ARPI in castration resistant setting "Data also showed that a PSA decline of at least 50% was more than 2.5 times more frequent with 177Lu-PSMA
