I am starting to go through the menopause, but when I had periods regularly I had a horrendous time. I am not advising anyone else to do this but I used to end up taking 3 paracetamols and a double Bacardi just to get some relief. I had laser surgery for endometriosis and 3 separate operations on my womb, ending with ablation of the womb lining.

Ugh! I can empathise with that, "rubycat"!

My periods are also flippin' horrendous, and I've felt "perimenopausal" now for years (hot sweats, etc.). Like you, I have Endo, and I've had 4 surgeries, including radical excision. NOT that this really makes anything much better! I'm STILL having horrendous periods (the last one left me feeling grotty for almost 2 weeks with lower back ache, pelvic pain, and dreadful cramping that lasted several days AFTER the period bleeding had ended).

TRULY foul!

Do you know something? We women deserve a medal for enduring everything that life and this stupid illness throws at us. I am not sexist, but men just would not be able to cope (no offence to men)! I often feel guilty about having Fibro and not being able to work any more. My husband says he understands but sometimes the things he says and the way he looks at me makes me wonder if even he does not altogether believe all that I go through. This makes me feel even worse and withdraw even further into myself. My daughter is the only one who really cares, but she is at Nottingham University so I only see her every few months. When she comes home there is so much I want to talk to her about but I don't want to have her worrying about me instead of getting her law work done. I'm sorry this has turned into an epic rant, I only meant to say the first bit but once I started I couldn't stop!!

Soft hugs to everyone.

Here, Here! I can identify with that!

I'm not a fan of Bacardi... but getting through a period usually involves a cocktail of painkillers, from Ibuprofen to Cocodamol, taken at regular intervals from the moment I wake up, to the moment I go back to bed at night!

Oh, joy!!

Hi everyone I have prescribed oestrogel just over two months ago, pmdd. I am 33 years old. I am trying to be patient and hope for the gel to make a difference. I suffer with severe mood swings. previously had severe post natal, took literally every med that was available to recover through that. hardest time in my life.

my other symptoms are pure chronic pain throughout lower of my back all the way down to my ankles. confusion, out of body experiences. migraines. irrational. i get like this every monthly cycle. but get depressed with it. i know im not depressed, i wake having good days. i still laugh. but when im low i cant cry and hibernate. i get insomnia.

since using the gel, my breasts have stopped being painful, but have gained weight around my waist, bloated look. i still get hot flushes which triggers off my anxiety badly. i take diazepam for that. i wake covered in sweat, having to change the bedding. i occasional bleed very heavily and have meds for that too, as i pass out from it due to too much blood loss.

i have sumitriptan injections for my migraines which are roughly once a month.

Is there anyone else going through this? using oestrogel at my age? any advise would be greatly appreciated. it is affecting my daily life. i cannot study properly, think straight. my child gets affected when ill as i am meant to look after her. I am a single mother.

many thanks in advance for any help from any of you

Itchy pubic area

My period pains/craps/hell feel like labour pains, I described the feeling I was having to my mum and she said it sounded like labour (not pregnant btw)
