I went on the pill shortly before I got married and the only problem I

anticipated was the possibility of gaining weight :-)

Within about a year, I started to experience low abdominal pain on either

side. This chronic pain plagued me for years before it was investigated.

The pain was caused by adhesions around my ovaries, my appendix

burst when I was a young child, I was told the adhesions probably stemmed

from the operation.

Taking the pill is possibly the most preferred type of contraception, being

hassle free etc. But these days, when we're more aware of contracting

infections, condoms may be the better option :-) xB
