I try to be mindful of my impact. Just because the product doesn't include animal products, it doesn't mean the processes are good for the environment. For example, I'm changing all of my clothing to natural fibres in order to get away from synthetics which cause so much damage. (I used to sew professionally so this is a possibility for me) I can't deny that wool is not a vegan fibre. But it is a natural fibre, one of the originals. But I won't use mass market wool fabrics. I'm learning to spin and get my spinning wool from a local sheep sanctuary. They get the money which helps them to care for their residents, I get a product that I can weave to make fabric for myself and the only environmental impact is the delivery van. I know many people won't agree. But this for me seems to be the path of least harm.

Thank you Cookie101, its really great you are giving it so much thought. We certainly need to change the way we do things now

Hey this is a great poll Debs, I notice that some cleaners are now labelled Vegan which shows the impact of consumer demand!

I couldn't see where to add an explanation of other, so in addition to the usual vegan principals of not buying anything made from animals I avoid any products tested on animals. I've avoided make up and toiletries tested on animals for years (incl products tested on animals outside Europe), and try to avoid cleaning products tested on animals. The Co op are quite good for cruelty free products.

That's really great Bramleyb, there are lots of vegan toiletries available now, I believe Superdrug offer a great range. Also now it's so easy to get vegan shoes, even M&S sell them
