Another good poll Jerry and I have voted for 12 years 25% will be Vegan. I'm Vegan for my health and it's certainly helping my IBS now. Also, I do not like meat, I don't like the fact that it was once a live animal. I certainly don't force any opinions on those that eat meat particularly as I'm the only Vegan in the family.

My main reason was to help my IBS.

Thanks Alicia, I think its really interesting the phenomenal impact that a plant based diet is having on societies across the world and for lots of reasons, mostly ethical and health which sounds good enough to me...so I hope it works for you. 😊

What evidence and research is there that vegans can be healthy short term? Not a lot.

What evidence and research is there that vegans can be healthy long term? Plenty including the longest & healthiest lived societies.

My vegan dad just turned 100 and he's still walking unaided and driving. He has no pain and his doctor says he has the heart and blood pressure of a 21 year old. He has been a vegetarian since 1964 and since becoming vegan in recent years he says he feels better than ever. He is living proof to me that humans do not NEED to eat animal foods to stay healthy.
