Hi TM.

Some of the symptoms that you've described might be what is causing your tinnitus - the feeling of fullness in your ear, for example.

I'm a little confused by your answer to Survive T in this thread - what does "Never gp third time" mean? It isn't particularly clear to anyone trying to offer advice or suggestions on what you might do to have your condition investigated.

OK Matthew. Here's what you need to do. Ask to see the practice manager at the surgery and ask him / her if you can have a second opinion. Be polite, but firm. They have a duty of care towards you. Perhaps you could take someone with you for moral support . Good luck.

Can i request to see the surgery manager? U know sometimes its like begging a pound in the street for the procedure

Mathew - write down ALL your symptoms relating to the headaches, ears and tinnitus ( u have mentioned many in yr posts) and the tinnitus . (Also other things , such as - if these symptoms are at certain times of day, or triggered by activities or other things)

U do need to speak to GP again - be Polite, BE CLEAR , have your list of symptoms when u are speaking to GP , or even give them a written summary of your symptoms and concerns. Tell them as much as you can about yr medical history and medications u have taken in past, also any other things like accidents, family history of medical conditions , etc etc

Like i said previously u may need referral to ENT or Neurology but only the GP can decide this , if u give the full information as i have mentioned above .

I know it feels that way at times .. but you just have to keep saying what you need. It took me a long time to get anywhere. Be patient. Keep trying.

I would go and see yr referral psychiatrist - and explain all yr symptoms and medical history - and if they think u need another medical dept they would refer.

The NHS as we know has a huge backlog of cases and many depts are overwhelmed. LIke DL says sometimes u have to persevere with the GP's - but most GP's do take people seriously if their symptoms continue for longer , over many months - and they know You and yr medical history better than we do on this forum.

U could see private ENT or Neurology if u can afford it , they would probably want to do a MRI scan. I went private and the ENT MRI scan cost me about £800 - but the MRI scan is very loud and could actually make yr T worse, this is why some people with T opt for a CT scan instead

***Very Important to write NOTES about yr all your symptoms and things which may have triggered symptoms - as this can help medical professionals a lot . Also re-read the answers to yr posts on this forum - and make notes of advice and tips.

Unfortunately the psychiatry team rejected, perhaps need private later, hearing test fine probably ent doesnt get anywhere maybe neurologist ir psychiatrist

did u tell them all yr symptoms ? but it seems to me u have spoken with GP numerous times and these are their decisions and they are medical professionals and to be honest , they know you and your case better than we do on this forum, and most of us on this forum are not medical people.

I do believe that NHS and private GP's and Consultants DO genuinely try to help people -I have seen ENT and Audiology and they could not help me with my T ( like many people on this forum) but they tried to help . You have to realise that tinnitus and brain issues are a difficult subject as medical science ( all over the world) does not fully understand tinnitus and other brain issues. Research is going on all the time (around the world) to find new treatments , most of which are not medications and not available for years possibly - but like i said its a very difficult medical subject for ENT and Neurologists

Mathew - I can see that u are suffering from yr posts and many of us on this forum are as well - Its all about personal management of T , which i learnt about from online research and from this forum. I can send u more info about managing T 🙂

Contact yr GP again if u feel u need to - yes it seems like u need a referral to ENT , so its difficult for me, to understand why they wouldnt do that . You have obviously seen Audiology though.

I swear i did clearly politely told then perhaps they just doubt its my mental audiologist checked ear fine

Point is guess most tinnitus dont or cant be found underlying disease, and uncurable sorry i said stupid thing

surviveT profile image
surviveT in reply to Toughmathew

its ok Mathew - this is the place to express yr feelings and experiences . Yes many causes of T cannot be found and yes its not curable for most people. I didnt mean to sound rude on that post - can I ask you where in the UK do u live?

Thank you Mathew - but No , you DO NOT sound rude - but sometimes your messages and posts are not that clear and sometimes its difficult to know what u are saying ( not always though). i know its difficult when communicating in a foreign language and this will improve over time.
