I`m lucky there I work from home but personally I dont get much joy with background sound

I like the faint wind and rain when I walk but I keep my ears protected wind can be surprisingly loud and it deffo makes it worse at full blast

That is a difficult situation, but sound therapy is one of the options for people living with tinnitus to use. If, as often seems to be the case, people feel anxious or distracted by their tinnitus, using sound may not be as helpful as using other senses to create distraction - if we're very aware of tinnitus, what would be the harm in trying to see things in our environment and paying attention to them.

The goal is to occupy your brain with things other than the tinnitus sound you experience - so why not use the other senses that you have to create that distraction? It's a good technique to help de-escalate cycles of panic, too.

So sounds therapy not necessarily the best

Sound therapy is an option - it's not the 'be all, end all' of ways to help you manage your tinnitus. That's an important thing to be aware of - there is no universal way that is 100% guaranteed to 'fix' your tinnitus, but there are a lot of options to help you distract yourself from it and to give you a good chance of lessening the anxiety which is currently putting tinnitus at the front of your thoughts.

If you visit our website, in the 'information' section, there's a drop down menu option titled 'what can I do?' which has a lot of ideas and things you can try to use to tackle your tinnitus.

Take on Tinnitus is also a good site to visit to put your T in perspective and give you some ideas on living well with it: takeontinnitus.co.uk

May i know the recovery rate for t without being able to find the cause

I think Toughmathew, that no-one is going to report a “recovery” from tinnitus, so nobody would know the answer to your question.

Sad but truth

just to say, toughmatthew, that working will distract your brain from the T if you let it. Be glad that there is something to occupy your mind that is NOT sound.

Hello! I had very loud T for years, with extremely crazy spikes with suicidal thoughts! I began to search frantically on the web because science does not give me any answer.

If you TRY ALL of this, I'm sure in two or three month you’ll be much better!!

1.- Mother tincture of Passinflower plant at night, but you don,t have to take medicine for sleep!

2.- Magnesium L-Threonate (only this Magnesium works well with T.) in the morning and five hours before sleep.

3.- GABA with Gingko Biloba and L-Theanine before breakfast.

4.- Control your blood pressure and detects if you snore or have cervical problems.

5.- Protect your inner ear all the time you can!

Keep in touch and best wishes!!
