Everybody should be eating at least five portions of fruit and vegetables a day. It is vital for your overall health.

Search for NHS Eat Well Guide which has a lot information. I quote from there:

“ Most of us still are not eating enough fruit and vegetables. They should make up over a third of the food we eat each day.

Aim to eat at least 5 portions of a variety of fruit and veg each day. Choose from fresh, frozen, tinned, dried or juiced.

Remember that fruit juice and smoothies should be limited to no more than a combined total of 150ml a day.

Fruit and vegetables are a good source of vitamins, minerals and fibre.”

Yes it’s important to eat vegetables and fruit , preferably fresh stuff . Far better to eat these than junk food .

Yes, if you can tolerate them. I eat lots of fresh veg but I have to go easy on the fruit as my stomach can't take too much(IBS). Take care 😉

Hi Blademink Always a good idea to eat fruit & vegetables - especially in season. This is a great time of year to make vegetable soup with all the root veggies in abundance . There's lots of salt & sugar in takeaways so they're not very good for you - and think of the £££ you could save too. One takeaway would easily buy enough frit & veg for a week 🥕🥕

To add the chorus of folks here saying 'Eat your greens!', I would agree that it's generally a good idea and it certainly isn't going to cause problems with tinnitus if you have a healthy diet.

As a vegetarian, I'm biased, but eating a good proportion of veggies, fruits, nuts and all that other good stuff makes me feel better (he said, casting a longing look at the lovely bananas next to his desk...)

yes fruits and vegs are necessary for good overall health - I used to have M&S ready meals through week as well sometimes , but i have stopped these coz all ready / pre prepared meals have salt as do lots of foods ( peanut butter etc etc) Its not poss to avoid salt totally - but reduce in some ways - I am sure my T has improved ( slightly) since I reduced the salt and stopped the ready meals

yeh - many ready meals are good with veg and protein - its just the salt content - i am reducing these but i dont know if i can cut these out completely as sometimes I need the convenience of a ready meal - best look for those with reduced / low salt . We are now microwaving some hard veg like carrots in a wee dish with a bit of water for 1 minute or longer - steaming veg as well. Its more veg prep but probably worth it if it helps reduce tinnitus a wee bit
