Hello Dab,

Sorry to hear this. Has something happened in your life recently to induce stress or trauma? I find that this is when my tinnitus becomes a problem for me. Perhaps if you can link a cause of the spike, you can address that issue & hopefully the tinnitus will settle down. Take care.

Hello Dab 57I agree with Hia , I think yours might very well be stress related . Maybe ask your GP to refer you to ENT to check things out . Oh this Tinnitus is such a weird tiresome condition . More help needs to come our way .

I’ve read your post, dab57, and the replies. Difficulty sleeping is so hard to deal with, I know.It sounds to me as if you need some immediate help from your doctor - what about referral for cognitive behavioural therapy?

Hi Dab

If you haven’t already I would try deep breathing and relaxation excercises before bed. There are some really good autogenic relaxation exercises on YouTube. Try also not to worry about not sleeping and tell yourself that if you don’t sleep it’s not a problem as the anxiety created by fear of not sleeping often means you won’t sleep. I found myself in exactly this position around 8 weeks ago. With persistence I am now back into a better sleep rhythm and get about 6 good hours of sleep. It is a welcome break from the tinnitus. If possible I would avoid sleeping pills as this can make the problem more difficult to resolve in the long run. In any case do consult with your GP.

Hope you begin to sleep well soon.
