I would try to reassure them that things do eventually get easier. That`s what I wanted to hear when I was at my worst - success stories.

Contact the BTA for support and information and find out if there is a support group in their area.

Straightforward really, "Despite what you think right now, you will learn to live with it".

get sorted with white noise or whatever masking works for you.

Don't expect it to go away. You have learn to put up with it, then ignore it and get on with your life.

What type of reply is this not what you want to hear. I have T and it’s mega loud not just a little ringing in one ear. But more like a screaming in my head sometimes I feel like it’s the end and really struggle at times so please be careful what you say. White noise does not help for me at all. I will never give up looking for answers.
