If you are self-isolating at the moment, how are feeling about your tinnitus?
Obviously this is in the light of isolating. I'm not ok that I have T but I've had to accept and adapt as I find nothing reduces or eliminates it.
Not coping well as when T is bad I can’t sleep even though I take meds to help with my sleep.and I get so tired it just makes me feel so low and with the lockdown it has made even worse.but I just try to fight through it.
Sorry to read that, Joeb17. Sleep is a tricky one at the best of times, let alone in this current situation (I'm getting used to being awake for at least an hour during the early hours, which is no fun). Stay positive and do what you can to live your life normally, even in this less than normal world which we find ourselves in.
Just can`t take my mind off the ringing noise in my head, tried music, reading and jigsaw`s, still my mind goes to my T
Is tinnitus just OK we'll your stuck with it? Can it get worse with age? I hear cakes pop s thumps anyone else
Hi Contra21. Tinnitus can change a lot - I'm sure many folks on here would agree. It can be louder, it can be quieter, the noise which you hear can change. Stress can be a big part of why it might seem to change regularly.
Yes, stress and immediately after excercise
Hi Bantams. How long have you had tinnitus for? Is it new to you or has it become louder recently?
Anti depressants have worked incredibly well for and I have accepted taking for duration of my life
Thank you for sharing that Strandloper - I'm pleased to read that you've found them to help in the management of your tinnitus.
Effexor 150 has been a tremendous help
Hi, Its really good to hear you have had some relief. Im wondering has the Medication improved your mood so you are less aware of the tinnitus. Ive had tinnitus a long time and hadn't considered Medication as I didn't know any were effective so that's really encouraging.
Tinnitus seems louder, but I am also just very thankful to be otherwise alive and healthy and that my family (so far) is OK.
Really good attitude to have Elaine - hopefully your tinnitus will improve and your family, I'm sure, will support you in the meantime.
I have other health issues going on which doesn’t help with the stress and fear of contracting covid 19. My T is loud at present and hard to ignore, but I am doing my best, I am just glad that my family are all well at the moment.
I am definitely more aware of it, its much higher in range. Im putting it down to working from home and having to wear headphones. Ive been using my clock more a night as a distraction and its working ok. I just expect and always hope it will quieten down again as it often flares up like this. I know awareness of it makes the difference but sometimes i am aware and its low, at the moment im aware and it high.
Definite , the tinnitus has never left over 15 years ( I’m 61 now ) I had severe depression when it started . Refused meds as not a pill taker ( depression was very bad from the noise ) eventually went in Effexor and really helped . I then went off meds and then about a year after severe depression with tinnitus ( went back in Effexor 150 last 10 years and coped fantastically . Effexor is one of the meds shown to help with tinnitus .
Not going out makes me more aware of t so it is very loud.
