I dread Christmas meals at work- last year for the first time I opted out, which was awkward, but not as much as having to excuse myself umpteen times because the sudden intake of rich, heavy food had caused chaos in my gut...

I attended work's Christmas lunch on Thursday and immediately after finishing the meal, had a bad episode. It started with a severe stomach cramp which led to me having to use the toilet and becoming extremely nauseated and anxious. I had to leave the restaurant which caused me much embarassment as everyone wanted to know what was wrong with me. I really hope I do not feel that way again, especially in public!

I've stopped all socialising now for that reason. Everything social revolves around food, and food is my number 1 enemy. I can't think of one food that I can tolerate now. IBS or whatever this illness is I have , has taken over my life over the last 2 weeks. The power of "IBS" is absolutely underestimated.

Diarrhoea is the bane of my life. Makes going out difficult, enjoying yourself when you're out difficult, ruins enjoyment of the limited foods I can still eat and generally makes me panicy, miserable and just wanting to curl up in bed.
