A few months ago I had a real scare, I found a small lump attached to the side of my left testicle. The very first thing that crossed my mind was cancer, and I couldn't convince myself otherwise. My mind was sent into a state of panic and anxiety for weeks, even after seeing my GP, and him examining and telling my nothing was wrong, I still was anxious. I booked in for a second opinion and this doctor sent me for an ultrasound scan. The scan wasn't for another four weeks, the wait was horrible, I just wanted to know what this was and get it treated. Miraculously, a week or so before my scan appointment, I checked on the lump myself and it had vanished. I still attended the scan and they concluded that there was nothing there anymore either, and they told me it was likely a cyst, but they did discover the beginnings of varicose veins (which my mum and her brother suffer from in their legs) in my scrotum, which may pose problems later, but not life threatening. The whole experience really made me realise how scary cancer could be, and give me a whole new outlook on the disease and great respect for the people who suffer from it, and in general I have became a lot more vigilant concerning my health.

So sorry for the delay in responding to you but it took us much longer (on our part) than anticipated to get this community set up.

The unknown is most often the most scary time and I am glad to hear that all was well with the ultrasound. It is always good to be vigilant and to go to the doctor if you notice changes to your testicles. Horrible to hear that you had such a delay in getting things evaluated though.

2 year survivor here. I feel a small lump on the top of my right one. I'm not entirely sure what it could be but I've read that cysts can be a thing.

Where was yours located exactly?

If you are feeling something new your best bet is to talk to your doctor and see if they will do a scrotal ultrasound maybe so that you know for certain what it is you are feeling and if anything give you peace of mind that it is a benign condition.

I am. I have an MRI on Friday. It's just that everyone says to check yourself for abnormalities, but not what is supposed to be normal. And now I only have one left with no other to compare to 😅

Excellent, glad to hear that you are getting things checked out. With just one it is hard to compare but if anything feels amiss it is worth mentioning it to the docs.
