I started TB meds 2 days ago and I am on Rixater and Moxifloxacin (as failed the eye test for Etambutol). I’m already getting an upset stomach with nausea and diarrhoea. I normally would have live yoghurt to put back the friendly bacteria when having antibiotics but this is high in histamine which I need to avoid. There is a zero histamine probiotic powder that I can buy - has anyone had experience of using this type of pro biotic, or any other tips to help with nutrition and stomach issues greatly appreciated. I’m feeling very unsupported on the nutrition front, especially as I have to avoid high histamine foods now. Any tips on good meals can make would be greatly appreciated, details of any nutritionists used for advice etc. I’m based in Hertfordshire, UK.
Thank you

please be very careful of the moxifloxacin .I was put on ciprofloxacin for the reason. It went on to destroy my entire body muscle, tendon, joints and the diarrhoea lasted for months after stopping the drug . They gave me no advice or warning about side affects. Only advice I can offer about guts is live culture yogurt and keffer milk, banana, nuts. But keep on at your doctor, consultant because my are disinterested.
Hi Orangetears, how are you getting on now? Side effects often settle over time and I am hoping that this is the case for you - or that some of the tips you received are working?
