Totally confused
Could it be cuz i've just started a new inhaler (
symbicort
400/12 - only taken 2 doses so far)? And why did my chest go tight so quickly? A lot of questions i know but i'm a totally confused by it :o/ Christine

Faulty Symbicort inhalers
Has anyone out there who uses
Symbicort
ever come across a defective inhaler? I have been on this for a couple of years in varying doses. I started a new inhaler last week and wasn't convinced it was ""clicking"" right. I used it for a day or so and my asthma started to deteriorate.

Told off for using A&E!
He currently takes
symbicort
, ventolin, singulair, slo-phyllin, tilade and 10mg alternate day pred. At the beginning of last month Jay came down with a chest infection and was prescribed Clarithromycin, it set his asthma off so I also started a couse of Pred (40mg).

odd pattern of attacks?
Seem to be steadily getting worse and taking a long time to feel better-really struggling to breathe in or out, slight unproductive cough, tight chest, hideous wheeze and chest pain, using a combo of the
symbicort
and a ventolin with a spacer- beyond reccomended dosage.

more frequent attacks
I'm already on
symbicort
, montelukast and salbutamol but was wondering if there are any other (safe) ways of trying to cut down the number of attacks i'm having.

Living life to the full on as little medication as possible = Goal
I have increased the
symbicort
but this does not seem to have helped to increase my peak flow significantly. Can you give me any suggestions of advise/medications my GP may suggest? Thanks

Hi All i have been using
Symbicort
400 for ages at 4 puffs per day and although using it since it first came in i found it helped i really feel that i am now having too many break through periods of asthma symptoms and having to depend on salamol more and more often and particularly recently.

order of adding new medications
I’m currently just on
symbicort
, singulaire and ventolin, managed six months off maintenance pred but over the last couple of months have been having so many courses I think I’d have been better back on a maintenance dose (overall dose would have been lower).

Double dose of preventer
Have doubled up preventer (
symbicort
200/6) so now on 4 puffs twice a day. But how long should it take for me to notice a difference? Thanks, Christine

Beclametasone + salmeterol versus Symbicort
Hi Just wondered what the difference was and is a combined inhaler anymore effective? I take the drugs seperately. Jen

How long is getting better going to take?
Returned to doctor this week as I am still using 6 puffs of
symbicort
and at least 8 puffs of ventolin a day and he has given me another week off work. I am never off work, I am so cross with my lungs!
