AF and amiodaran treatment, ablations, cardioversions
The first
cardioversion
is like a trial run, and the second one is to fix the problem.

Depressing cardiology consultation
Cardiologist didn't think it was worth me having a 3rd
cardioversion
as it probably wouldn't work.

Persistent AF
The cardiologist doesn't seem to concerned by this and is saying its up to me whether I want to have another
cardioversion
or ablation (I have one of each in the past 4 years) or whether I want to try and control my AFIB with meds...

1st question re cardioversion
Apart from a brief conversation re
cardioversion
and ablation when I was 1st diagnosed, none of the cardiologists I have seen have suggested that I should have
cardioversion
. I am currently taking 10mg of Bisoprolol a day in two 5mg tablets, morning and afternoon, 10mg Ramipril and 60mg Edoxaban.

Back in AF after 18 months and having root canal treatment next week
I had a successful
cardioversion
in January 2023 after being in constant AF for three months and have not had any episodes until yesterday. I take 2.5mg of Bisoprolol and Edoxoban daily.

AVnode ablation
One other option that we have discussed is chemical
cardioversion
with dofetilide, but my dr doesn't like that one, since it carries risk. So i hope i am making right choice to go ahead with the AV NODE ABLATION. IT IS SCHEDULED FOR JUNE 4. jodie

dronedarone
i’ve been on amiodarone very successfully since a successful
cardioversion
last August but recently blood test showed effect on my thyroid so I’ve been switched to dronedarone which I haven’t started taking as yet.

Afib/Ectopic Beats Nightmare
I Have had Afib for over 7 years (on 10mg Bisoprolol since) recently had Second
Cardioversion
which led to regular Ectopic Heart Beats and slow HR of 29bpm at lowest which led to hospitalisation.

Two lead Pacemaker to a 3 lead CRT
Another ablation was also discussed and a
cardioversion
. Anyone know what the surgical procedure is to upgrade a 2 lead pacemaker to a 3 lead pacemaker? How do they get additional wire into the L/H side ventricle?

Persistent Atrial Fibrillation
In August 2023 I had a successful
cardioversion
and was back into sinus rhythm for 8 months. Last week I caught another cold and guess what? Back into AFib again. Has anyone else had AFib repeatedly triggered by a virus?

My INR is 2.3 so can I wait until 7 days before going for the dreaded
cardioversion
? Propafenone was stopped because even though calcium score was 0 there was a blockage in RHS coronary artery that he said was stable and didn’t want to touch. Advice appreciated folks thanks

Chostochondritus after cardioversion ?
Hi everyone, after a successful
cardioversion
I felt amazing. However, after six weeks I was told it has failed. I still felt alot better but recently it has been getting worse with some dizziness and more episodes.

After cardioversion
Hi me again My husband had a
cardioversion
on Friday. It wasn't the same as usual when he has had Arrythmia but for severe atrial flutter and it was a rushed job in A & E where he was only partially sedated so he felt it. His heart rhythm/ speed is back to normal but he feels rubbish.

Sleep Apnea and afib
Today I had a
cardioversion
which was successful; and of course, I hope it lasts. The team who administered the procedure reported that sleep apnea showed up during the
cardioversion
. Their opinion is that sleep apnea is a genuine problem that often contributes to afib.

5 Days Post Ablation and getting an ECG
I was told a
cardioversion
would be several weeks away. Are there alternatives to amiodarone that are less nasty?

Amiodarone
I was admitted to hospital last week with extreme AF (between 28 and 270 bpm) After a couple of days of unsuccessful drug therapy, I was given a
cardioversion
(my second) and went back into NSR immediately.
